JVC Thai Boxing Center

In 1992, the formal introduction of Muay Thai and Kickboxing in Mexico came under the guidance of then Master of Lima Lama, Jorge Vazquez. With the arrival of an experienced Dutch kickboxing team to Xalapa, Veracruz, lead by the venerated Tom Harink, the less experienced Lima Lama Mexican team was tested: they lost all of their fights. Yet it was this experience that ignited a new path for Arjan Jorge Vazquez to learn, study and impart his knowledge of Muay Thai to a generation of Mexican fighters.

He has since brought fighters from Mexico to the Muay Thai amateur fights in Thailand, has competed with numerous international teams and has generated solid fighters who have in turn gone on to teach the traditional technique, values and principals of Muay Thai across Mexico.

This Web site captures the accomplishments, highlights and contributions Arjan Jorge Vazquez has made, not only to Muay Thai in Mexico, but to the spirit of this art practiced around the world. He is recognized and celebrated by notable figures in Muay Thai such as Tom Harink, Grand Master Chinawood "Woody" Sirisumphang and author and Muay Thai Master, Panya Kraitus.

However, it is through his students and their own individual achievements in Muay Thai that the valuable lessons, knowledge and experience of Jorge Vazquez are evident. And it is these students who continue the tradition of Muay Thai in Mexico, sharing what they have learned of the art under Arjan Vazquez and nurturing the minds of the next generation of Mexican fighters who will pursue and protect the tradition of this beautiful art.

Fortsetzung folgt.....

Hello everyone! Sawatdee krup!

We are a new Club in Montreal, Canada, solely dedicated to the teaching and promotion of authentic:

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing)
Krabi-Krabong (traditional thai weapons)
Muay Boran (ancient Muay Thai)

Our training is based on that of a professional Muay Thai camp in Thailand, but it will be adapted to each students goals:

Fitness? Self-Defense? Competition? (Amateur and Professional)

All our instructors have trained extensively in Thailand and are officially certified by the Thai government, whether by the World Muay Thai Council in Bangkok or the famous Buddaisawan Institute in Ayuthaya.

In order to ensure the quality of the training and the better promotion of Muay Thai the ancient martial art and modern fighting sport, we have developed a curriculum based on grade levels from beginner up to advanced and assistant instructor level, following those of most recognized International Amateur Muay Thai Federations.

At Daosawan (Star from Heaven) Muay Thai Club, our main goal is to introduce promote and develop real Muay Thai in all its aspects (physical, technical and cultural), therefore eliminating the stereotype of Muay Thai as just another “easy- to-do”, “extreme”, or “ultimate” fighting sport!

At the present we offer mixed classes in the following age groups:
10-13 years old; 14 –17 years old; and 18 and over .

We are open from Monday to Saturday, from 12:00 noon to 9:00pm.

Please call us or better yet, come and see us for more details!

Sawatdee krup! Khawp khun krup!

ONE WORLD! ONE MUAY THAI!
